Ways To Live Longer, Insya Allah

Life expectancy is rising every year with people being more conscious of their lifestyle choices, how much exercise they are doing and what foods they are consuming. It doesn’t have to be all salads and gyms, so set your expectations higher with this guide to holding back the years.
1. Stress less What with our lives getting more hectic, with long working hours, demanding bosses, and family commitments, it is important to take time out in the day to zone out, even if it is just for 10 minutes. Learn a relaxation procedure which have been proven to help reduce stress. Relaxing also reduces blood pressure and works towards reducing stress-related conditions such as depression.
2. Be HappyLaughing is like a small work out and it releases certain chemicals in our body such as endorphins which make us feel happy. It has also been found to lower the levels of stress hormones in the body and increases movement of natural defensive cells and antibodies. If you feel as though you cant muster a laugh then smile, as it has a similar effect.
3. GivingStudies have found that those who give to charity have lower rates of depression and heart disease. Donating to a charitable cause or actually rolling your sleeves up and getting involved will make you feel extremely good as it is rewarding. It can be anything from helping out a neighbour or friend, donating money when you can, or even helping the homeless by volunteering in a soup kitchen over Hari Raya.
4. Good Health/DietOvereating is one of the main causes of aging and can lead to many health problems such as heart disease and various cancers including colon, gall bladder and ovarian cancer. Your diet should contain plenty of fresh vegetables, fish and meat for essential vitamins and minerals. Obviously stopping smoking is vitally important to a longer life. The longer a person smokes, the greater the risk of smoking related diseases, such as lung cancer, therefore stop as early as possible to avoid these.
5. ExerciseWomen who are fit and exercise have a 40% less chance of heart disease than those who don’t. Exercising on a whole makes us feel content and is also central for us. It gets the heart pumping, the blood flowing and helps relieve your body of pent-up energy; the end result being your body feeling a whole lot calmer.
6. Get a petAnimal lovers will be happy to know that having a pet can add years to your life. People who own pets are less stressed and more relaxed which again lowers blood pressure within the body. A fish in a bowl will have a calming and relaxing elps relieve your body of pent-up energy; the end result being your body feeling a whole lot calmer.
7. And for sure stay closer to Allah swt ! Its more relaxing. Give a try
